FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Partnering with the World Championship Bingo Cruise reaps rewards for Bingo World in Baltimore! Baltimore, MD June 15, 2009 - In 2007, Dale Willey, marketing manager for Bingo World in Baltimore, Maryland, and his boss, Bingo World general manager Randy Clemens, decided it was high time they took a firsthand look at the World Championship Bingo Tournament & Gaming Cruise they'd heard so much about. So they, their wives, and several others signed on-and had the time of their lives. "We were very impressed by how well the tournament was run and how everyone seemed to enjoy it," Dale says. "When we returned home, Randy said he thought it would be a great prize to give away at Bingo World. And it really was. When we had our first drawing, attendance really went up." Attendance spiked so much, in fact, that the Bingo hall began offering monthly drawings throughout 2008 until, come cruise time, they had racked up a group of 24 people traveling together compliments of Bingo World. "We even had a drawing for our employees," Dale says. "You know you've got a good thing going when even your employees want to be part of the fun." Of the 24 Bingo World cruise travelers, several won prize money during the tournament and at the ship's casino, and one was the first-prize winner in the Bingo Bugle Blackjack Tournament. "I didn't win anything myself," says Dale, "but I still had a great time. That shows you what a good trip it is-that it can be about the Bingo Tournament, but there's still a ton of other things to do that makes it a great trip, win or lose." Of the various activities offered aboard ship, Dale found the stage shows the most enjoyable, while his wife, Cindy, enjoyed the land tours. "We sort of were chaperones for the cruise winners, but there was so much going on, we rarely had everyone together," Dale laughs. "Randy hosted a special dinner for the group, which I think may have been the only time during the entire cruise that we saw everyone." Bingo World has found a real asset in offering Bingo Tournament cruise packages as prizes for their players-both to boost attendance, which it has, and to create added excitement, which it definitely has. "We'll have another 24 people on the 2009 cruise," says Dale, and we're already expecting to give away more cruises in 2010. When you come across a prize that's this popular and helps keep players coming to your hall to play, you stick with it." And as a marketing manager, Dale Willy should know.
